High-Tech recruiting firm encourages companies to “Skip the Donuts” and move forward with their hiring plans.

Salient Corporation, a Portland Oregon-based recruiting firm responds to the economic hiring trend by offering clients a choice between a drastically reduced placement fee (50% off) and a deferred payment option until 2009.

Portland Oregon, October 15th.
Salient Corporation feels the effects of the economy every day as they listen to their client’s frustrations about having to put their important projects on hold. On the other side they talk often with candidates who are highly skilled, with years of experience, only to find themselves unemployed. As winter approaches this year, so do hiring freezes.

According to Dice.com, a leading technical career website, there are nearly 15,000 fewer tech jobs posted on their site there were one year ago.

In response to the economic downturn, the Salient team won’t show up at their clients’ offices with donuts, post-it notes, coffee cups or t-shirts emblazoned with the Salient logo. Instead they will do all they can to make their services affordable to their clients during these economically challenging times by streamlining their services without compromising quality.

“This is not a time for flashy, soft-shoe selling,” says Diane Benscoter, Director of Business Development for Salient. “We want to serve our clients and we understand their staffing frustration. We also talk with candidates every day who have been laid off and who have tremendous talent and excellent skills. We want to make it possible for them to be considered for positions that we know our clients could use them for.”

Salient anticipates this promotion will encourage some companies to move forward with hires that had been put on hold until 1Q 2009.
